(3:31) Welcome back to PCOS Unfiltered and welcome to Brian.(3:36) I think this is going to be a different conversation. (3:40) So Brian is actually local to where I am in Florida. (3:46) And we met at an event and I think (3:50) just your background, everything you've learned, (3:54) where you're at right now, just aligns really well (3:56) with what I try to achieve with the podcast and everything I do.(4:00) So let's kind of just jump in. (4:02) And if you could just share what you do, how you got there, all the things. (4:08) Sure, I'll jump right in.(4:09) So my name is Brian Stasekel. (4:11) I'm a biohacking coach and consultant. (4:14) The company I worked for was called Sapien Anatomics.(4:16) I specialize primarily in longevity and life extension, (4:20) but I also work on human performance and biological optimization as well. (4:26) Currently, at the moment, I am running and operating a wellness center (4:30) that specializes in health modalities and therapies. (4:33) Everything ranging from hyperbaric oxygen to pulse electric magnetic field therapy, (4:39) red light beds, compression therapy, vagus nerve stimulation, (4:43) anything that is in the health and wellness space, we encompass at the moment.(4:47) We're based out of Seminole, Florida. (4:50) We just opened up about five or six months ago. (4:53) So we're relatively new and we're just trying to build traction (4:56) and take our share in the market.(5:00) Awesome. (5:01) And so how did you get into all that? (5:02) How did you get into biohacking and even what you're doing now? (5:07) So honestly, it started probably around the time I was in high school. (5:11) I was a young meathead.(5:13) I loved working out, fitness. (5:15) I've been an athlete my whole life. (5:17) And I was always intrigued by how the things that we consume affected our biology.(5:22) So whenever I would buy a supplement or a protein shake, (5:25) I would always look at the nutritional label and the supplement facts. (5:29) And I'd look at each individual ingredient. (5:32) And I would always Google or YouTube how it was affecting my biology.(5:36) And then I just went down the complete rabbit hole, (5:38) learned fundamental biology, pharmacokinetics, a little bit of dynamics, (5:45) went from there and then just kind of took off. (5:49) And then these last couple of years, I opened up my biohacking consultation company. (5:55) And that taught me even more, got me more into the esoteric space (5:58) and the more niche knowledge, I guess you could say, in terms of biohacking.(6:04) And then most recently, I got involved with the wellness clinic (6:07) and that expanded my knowledge even more. (6:10) Yeah. So when we first talked, I was asking you, (6:14) because you seem so knowledgeable in this stuff.(6:16) And I was like, where's your degree? (6:17) Or which one's your degree? (6:19) But you were self-taught, right? (6:21) Like you've been, yeah, where do you find all the information? (6:26) I've been an autodidact my whole life. (6:28) I've just always learned better on my own. (6:30) I just have more time to, I guess, assimilate the knowledge (6:34) that I'm trying to find.(6:38) I primarily get a lot of my resources from clinical researches, (6:43) meta-analysis, Google Scholar videos. (6:49) I mean, I like reading a lot. (6:51) I've got a lot of my knowledge from biology for dummies (6:55) and biochemistry from dummies.(6:59) And just talking with individuals that are in the same space that I'm in. (7:03) Yeah. I mean, I think I wanted to bring up that point (7:06) because I actually talk about it in my book.(7:10) And we, as women, just individuals, (7:14) the knowledge nowadays is out there. (7:17) It is out there everywhere. (7:19) You can gain knowledge from so many different areas.(7:23) And yes, you do have to probably be careful, right? (7:25) Make sure you're good sources and all that stuff. (7:28) But when it comes to these women that I work with (7:31) that are going to the doctor's office, especially, (7:34) they can be their own advocates. (7:36) Just because somebody's telling you something (7:39) doesn't mean that you have to accept that.(7:41) Or if you don't know exactly what the doctor is saying (7:44) or somebody's saying, you can go out and learn more about it. (7:49) Which I love what you were saying about the labels as well, (7:51) because that's also part of what I do, (7:53) specifically in the context of sugar, (7:57) which eliminates a lot of stuff anyways. (8:01) But I love what you said, (8:02) that when you go through those ingredient labels, (8:05) it's very eye-opening, right? (8:07) And you start learning, these aren't actually foods.(8:11) They're manufactured ingredients, right? (8:17) What was the biggest takeaway from when you started doing all that? (8:24) Or what was maybe one ingredient or something (8:26) that stuck out to you the most? (8:28) Probably seed oils in general. (8:31) Like the fact that we're consuming these highly processed, (8:35) concentrated ingredients that were never meant (8:37) to be consumed by human beings. (8:39) From an evolutionary standpoint, I mean, (8:42) I'm a big believer in that plants don't want you (8:44) to eat their seedlings.(8:45) They would rather you consume their fruits, (8:48) but not their seeds. (8:49) That's why a lot of... (8:51) Most human beings cannot metabolize the seeds (8:53) that they consume. (8:55) That's why we poop them out.(8:56) Evolutionarily, if we were alive during the caveman era, (9:01) we'd be pooping these seeds out, (9:03) and our fecal matter would be fertilizer (9:07) for these plants to grow from. (9:09) But the fact that we're crushing them up (9:10) or releasing all these phytochemicals, (9:13) natural toxins, natural pesticides, (9:17) and then we're just consuming it. (9:18) A big issue is the farm pseudo... (9:21) I'm sorry, the agricultural industrial complex.(9:25) The fact that we have 600 million people in America, (9:28) and we need to feed these people, (9:30) and we go for whatever the easiest food source (9:34) to obtain is. (9:36) And a lot of it is seed oils. (9:39) Yeah, yeah.(9:40) Yeah, we were talking about that too, (9:41) because I mean, when you think about it, (9:43) and it sounds like you've probably done more (9:46) of the research on it, (9:47) but when these foods are grown, (9:49) especially if they're grown in other countries (9:51) or even just anywhere in the US, (9:54) and then they're transported, (9:56) you know, just the growing, the picking, (9:58) all the things, (9:59) and then the transporting to all these various, (10:02) you know, grocery stores and everything (10:04) to finally get on a shelf, (10:05) and they're still fresh. (10:07) And it's like, what, yeah, (10:09) like what do you go through? (10:11) You know, it's honestly, (10:13) it's the type of food we eat. (10:14) It's the way in which the food itself (10:16) is grown and processed.(10:18) And it's the fact that we shouldn't even be eating (10:20) that food to begin with. (10:21) I believe a lot of the vegetables (10:23) that are out there should not be in the human diet. (10:27) I think that they're too complex (10:32) in terms of chemical, (10:34) too much phytochemical complexities going on.(10:37) Like we should be eating foods (10:38) that are more natural to our evolution (10:40) and more recognizable to our genetics. (10:44) Like when we had spoken the first time, (10:46) I had mentioned how I believe (10:47) that you should eat whatever your ancestors ate. (10:50) And I'm a big believer (10:50) in that everybody's different.(10:54) I mean, everybody has a unique genetic code (10:56) and everybody's ancestors ate different foods. (11:00) You know, if you were a Japanese man, (11:01) I would say you should probably include (11:03) seaweed in your diet. (11:05) Whereas if you're a European man, (11:07) I would advise against it (11:08) because you just do not have the genetics (11:10) that encode for the phytochemicals (11:13) found in that food.(11:14) An example I gave you when we had last spoken (11:16) was a tomato. (11:18) You know, if you look at a tomato, (11:19) it contains thousands of different chemicals in it, (11:21) right, phytochemicals. (11:23) And if you were to look at it as a pie chart, (11:25) what portion of that pie chart is beneficial (11:28) and which portion is not? (11:30) We don't know.(11:31) I mean, I don't know, nobody knows. (11:34) And with that being said, (11:35) is the portion that's beneficial to you (11:38) better than the portion (11:40) that is harming your biology? (11:42) You know, who knows? (11:45) You know, but I can tell you that, (11:46) I mean, I think that meat in general (11:49) is probably one of the safest food options (11:51) you can choose from, you know, eggs, (11:53) as long as it's organic, (11:54) because, you know, the things that you eat, (11:58) what they eat, (11:58) determines how healthy that food is for you. (12:02) Yeah, you're eating what they ate.(12:05) Yeah, there's a saying. (12:06) Exactly. (12:07) We dig our graves with our teeth.(12:10) You know, the food we eat is, (12:12) I guess you could say it's programming. (12:15) It's like computational code. (12:17) You're a biological computer (12:19) and the food that you consume are, (12:22) they are, I guess you could say, (12:26) signaling molecules, (12:28) you know, that tell your body (12:29) to perform a certain function.(12:31) You know, I mean, you can look at it (12:33) like pharmaceutical drugs. (12:34) You can look at it like stimulants. (12:37) I mean, a lot of people consume caffeine (12:39) in the morning.(12:40) And what does caffeine do? (12:41) It upregulates your nervous system, (12:44) you know, but is that beneficial? (12:46) I don't know. (12:47) It's bringing you out of homeostasis. (12:50) Yeah, yeah, yeah.(12:51) I mean, of course, you know, (12:53) they say there's, you know, (12:55) some benefits to coffee. (12:58) But again, organic is a lot, (13:01) like if you do the research on coffee beans, (13:05) the sourcing is a lot of times (13:07) not very good. (13:08) And a lot of our, you know, (13:10) common like main brands (13:12) that you might think of (13:13) when it comes to coffee.(13:16) Yeah, it's, I know, it's interesting. (13:19) And that's what I do with my clients too, (13:22) which I think is why we kind of hit it off (13:24) when we were talking too, (13:25) because we get back to eating, (13:27) you know, how we're supposed to eat. (13:29) I think even like dairy (13:31) is a big part of that conversation as well, (13:34) because a lot of us, (13:36) depending on our ancestry, (13:38) our, you know, cultural backgrounds, (13:39) everything like you mentioned, (13:41) aren't made to handle dairy products.(13:44) Right. Do you know much about that one? (13:46) You know, I know that the A2 casein protein (13:50) is more of an antigen. (13:52) And I mean, a much more milder form of, (13:55) of that would probably be (13:56) something like goat's milk, (13:58) you know, that doesn't have that A2 protein in it.(14:01) A lot of these, (14:02) a lot of these milk companies (14:04) now are starting to manufacture (14:05) milk without it in it. (14:07) But I mean, that's not all of it. (14:09) But even then it's like (14:10) milk was not designed (14:11) for a human being to consume, (14:13) you know, it's filled (14:16) with lots of inflammatory molecules.(14:18) In fact, a lot of people (14:19) that consume milk have issues (14:20) with acne and inflammation. (14:23) I mean, I know I did (14:24) when I was in high school. (14:25) My, my acne was horrible.(14:26) That was, that was from, (14:28) that was from consuming too much milk, (14:31) I believe too much dairy product, (14:32) you know, but yeah, yeah. (14:34) My, my discovery of that was more recent, (14:37) but yeah, it's like I, (14:37) I finally kind of, you know, (14:40) did some, did some searching (14:43) and I think, yeah, the, (14:45) the milk products, the dairy products, (14:47) I think were part of that. (14:48) I mean, and there's like, (14:50) with my program, (14:51) I've actually done (14:52) a little research on dairy too.(14:54) And because it's, (14:56) they're huge farms, right? (14:58) They're all packed in there together. (15:00) My husband and I actually did a trip (15:02) across the country in a motor home, (15:04) like over a year ago. (15:05) And there were some of these farms (15:08) that we went by that smelled so, so bad.(15:11) And you could see in the fields (15:12) where the cattle, like, you know, (15:14) were just packed together. (15:18) And it's like, that's what's getting, (15:21) you know, that's, that's our food. (15:23) Like that's, you know, (15:24) that's where it's coming from.(15:26) And so then you worry about like antibiotics (15:28) because of infections and all that stuff. (15:29) And then that, again, (15:30) ends up in our system as well. (15:34) So, yeah.(15:35) Yeah, I mean, a lot of people (15:36) don't realize that, you know, (15:38) like the environment in which the, (15:40) the livestock that you're consuming (15:42) and plays a huge role in how beneficial (15:44) it is to your general health. (15:46) I mean, it's honestly, (15:47) it has to do with a lot with gene expression. (15:49) People don't realize that your thoughts (15:52) influence your gene expression, (15:53) but, you know, animals have thoughts too, right? (15:55) Their environment influences (15:57) their gene expression.(15:58) I mean, just through positive thinking, (16:01) you can influence the production (16:02) of certain neurotransmitters, (16:04) serotonin, dopamine, (16:06) whereas negative thoughts (16:07) also influence cortisol, norepinephrine. (16:10) But it plays a role in the food you eat as well. (16:13) So eating food that's constantly stressed out (16:15) in an environment of high cortisol, (16:17) it's probably going to have a negative effect (16:19) on your health as well.(16:21) Exactly. Yeah. (16:22) All that plays a role for sure.(16:23) I love that you said that too, (16:24) because that's like, oh my gosh. (16:27) I mean, now at this point, (16:28) I've done a number of episodes with, (16:31) you know, regarding the nervous system (16:32) and mindset and all of that stuff (16:34) and how that plays a role. (16:35) And that's, that's one of my big, (16:37) my big things with this podcast, (16:38) you know, and somebody could say, (16:39) well, why are you having this guy on too? (16:41) It was, you know, PCOS.(16:44) No, this isn't necessarily one of those, (16:45) like PCOS specific episodes, (16:48) but this is why I have somebody like you on, (16:52) because you bring up that, (16:53) that very good point (16:54) and how we can control, you know, (16:57) like you said, control some of these things (16:59) just with our thoughts (17:00) and how your health can be affected (17:03) just with how we are thinking. (17:07) Yeah, I love that. (17:10) What's been maybe like your biggest (17:12) aha, like with working with your clients, (17:15) like what's maybe something that, (17:18) that, that stands out to you (17:20) with any of your clients or anything (17:22) that's helped them, (17:23) whether that's a supplement that they've used (17:25) or something like that.(17:26) You know, when it comes to supplements, (17:28) generally, I like to think the best supplement (17:30) is to fix your gut microbiome (17:32) and get your stomach in check, (17:34) because you could take (17:34) all the supplements in the world. (17:36) It does not matter if your stomach (17:37) is not functioning properly. (17:39) I mean, if you're, (17:40) if you can't break down (17:42) and metabolize the food (17:43) and supplements you're consuming, (17:44) then you're, you're just buying expensive pee.(17:46) That's, that's what it comes down to. (17:48) So usually I try to build, (17:50) I build the foundation of the house first, (17:52) and then I work my way up from there. (17:54) So typically with clients, (17:55) I'll get them to consume, (17:56) you know, symbiotics, (17:59) oral peptide, peptide bioregulators, (18:02) you know, BPC-157, TB-500, (18:06) get them to clean their diet up (18:08) for a brief moment of time.(18:09) Maybe I'll incorporate (18:10) a little bit of fasting (18:11) just so that their body (18:12) doesn't have to expend energy (18:14) to break down food, (18:15) and it can instead use that, (18:17) that energy to work on fixing the stomach, (18:20) because it takes energy (18:22) to create energy, right? (18:23) So, you know, whenever your body's (18:25) not doing one thing, (18:26) it's doing another. (18:27) Your body's constantly (18:28) working on something. (18:29) So, and I feel like (18:31) we're so disconnected from fasting.(18:33) That's probably is causing (18:34) a lot of the metabolic issues (18:36) we're having now. (18:36) You know, like IBS, (18:38) or issues regarding leaky gut (18:41) or gut permeability. (18:43) You know, we're not, (18:44) we're not created to be (18:46) eating food every single day.(18:48) There's been 50,000 ancestors (18:50) before you, and only the last (18:53) four or five generations (18:54) have been privileged enough (18:55) to consume food every single day. (18:57) So I think it's evolutionarily accurate (18:59) to go, you know, a brief, (19:01) brief amounts of time (19:02) without consuming food. (19:04) Yeah, and back in the day, (19:06) we had to, we had to search, right? (19:08) Our ancestors had to search, (19:09) like it wasn't always readily available, (19:10) like it is on every shelf (19:12) and every corner, (19:13) you know, like it is now.(19:15) And so, yeah, there were times (19:16) where, you know, like you said, (19:19) you kind of naturally fasted, (19:20) you know, or went without, (19:22) went without anything. (19:24) When people are on these supplements, (19:26) is there like, I mean, (19:28) is the goal to eventually get them off (19:31) or like maintenance doses (19:32) or kind of what do you see? (19:34) You know, what do you see there? (19:36) I think that some should be ran (19:38) as a maintenance dose (19:40) and then some should just be ran (19:41) for a brief moment in time (19:43) just to help get your body back (19:45) to a state of homeostasis. (19:47) Like I wouldn't recommend, (19:48) you know, there's supplements out there (19:50) that lengthen your telomeres.(19:52) Like I wouldn't recommend (19:53) somebody consuming these telomere (19:55) lengthening supplements (19:56) for years on end, you know, (19:58) because you could risk like, (19:59) you know, cancer. (20:00) But, you know, doing it briefly (20:01) just to get a little bit (20:02) of the anti-aging effect, (20:04) I think is beneficial. (20:06) You know, gut bacteria symbiotics, (20:10) I think, I mean, (20:10) I think it's beneficial.(20:11) I don't think that, you know, (20:13) taking it every day would be an issue (20:15) or harmful in any way. (20:17) But I think once you get your body (20:20) back to a healthier state, (20:21) it doesn't have to fight (20:23) as hard to prepare itself. (20:25) They talk a lot about (20:26) the pendulum theory of aging (20:28) and how it goes (20:29) if you were to picture (20:31) your biology as a pendulum, (20:33) one way would be growth (20:35) and one way would be repair.(20:36) An issue is a lot of individuals (20:38) are stuck in the growth side (20:40) of the pendulum. (20:41) They're not swinging back to repair. (20:43) And that's how your body (20:44) should function.(20:45) It should swing back and forth (20:47) between growth and repair. (20:48) You know, ontophagy and mitosis, (20:50) back and forth, back and forth. (20:52) That's a lot of the issues (20:53) you see with bodybuilders.(20:55) You know, the reason they die younger, (20:56) the reason they look older (20:58) than they actually are (20:59) is because they're causing (21:00) too much cellular replication (21:01) and are not giving their body a break. (21:04) Yeah, I don't think I've ever heard that before. (21:06) I mean, it makes total sense, (21:08) but I've never, you know, (21:10) really heard that.(21:11) I mean, and that's, you know, (21:12) that's where sleep comes in (21:13) and, you know, decreasing your stress, (21:16) you know, your outside stressors, (21:18) your stress from your food, of course, (21:19) because your body needs those times (21:22) to actually do the repair, right? (21:25) Yeah, and if you think of it, (21:26) these supplements that kind of help (21:27) the pendulum to swing faster, (21:30) you know, to swing faster (21:31) towards regeneration, (21:33) swing faster towards growth. (21:34) And just like ontophagy (21:36) would make your body (21:37) go into a state of regeneration, (21:39) you know, working out (21:41) or consuming food would cause you (21:43) to go more towards growth, you know? (21:46) Yeah, yeah. (21:48) And these are all just (21:49) evolutionary mechanisms (21:50) that are built into you.(21:51) A lot of what we do at the clinic, (21:53) at the center is based off of things (21:55) that are found in nature, (21:56) you know, hyperbaric oxygen. (21:58) It's just oxygen to a higher degree (22:00) with pressure. (22:02) PEMF, it's just, it's EMS.(22:04) It's something you could get (22:05) naturally from nature. (22:06) It's just not, doesn't pulsate (22:08) like our machines do. (22:09) Or vagus nerve stimulation, (22:12) you know, that's something (22:13) that's natural.(22:14) It's part of the fight or flight response. (22:16) We just take what's found in nature (22:17) and we try to amplify it. (22:20) Yeah, yeah.(22:23) Going back to what you're saying (22:25) about the gut too, (22:26) I wanted to kind of touch (22:27) a little bit more on that (22:28) because I mean, I'm definitely (22:30) not an expert in that by any means. (22:32) I've had other people on the show (22:33) that are experts in gut health (22:36) and everything. (22:38) But it's a super important topic (22:42) because like I know (22:43) with my personal journey, (22:44) that's one of the biggest things I learned.(22:46) I didn't realize like how much (22:47) the gut plays a role in our, (22:49) you know, our immune system, (22:50) our overall health, like all of that. (22:53) And so that's where I get kind of torn. (22:58) You know, you mentioned supplements (22:58) and of course, (23:00) especially like with PCOS, (23:01) there's all kinds of supplements, (23:02) especially directed right towards those, (23:05) you know, hormonal conditions (23:06) and that type of thing.(23:07) And sure they're great, (23:09) but if you're not doing (23:10) all the other things, (23:12) you know, along with that, (23:14) like you mentioned, (23:15) like, yeah, then the supplements. (23:18) Synergistic, you know, (23:19) a lot of people, (23:20) they try to reduce it. (23:22) You know, they take it (23:23) from a reductionist standpoint.(23:24) They think, oh, I want better skin. (23:26) So I'm just going to take collagen. (23:28) Well, no, there's, you know, (23:30) a thousand other things (23:32) that play a part in skin health (23:33) or liver function or heart function.(23:36) Your body is a multiplicity of systems. (23:39) And if you're going to target (23:40) a specific system, (23:41) you need to target (23:42) the individual constituents (23:44) of the system. (23:46) And it gets really complex.(23:48) You know, a lot of people refer to it (23:49) as organized complexity, right? (23:51) It's complex, but it's organized (23:52) at the same time. (23:54) And if you're somebody (23:55) that's trying to tackle (23:56) a specific issue, (23:58) you need to target it (23:59) from multiple angles. (24:01) You know, like if I was talking (24:01) to somebody that wanted to, (24:03) you know, improve their skin health, (24:05) I would say, OK, well, (24:06) let's work on taking some collagen.(24:08) Let's work on taking GHKCU, (24:12) maybe glucosamine, hyaluronic acid. (24:14) But let's make sure (24:15) we get your stomach in order (24:17) so that you can actually metabolize (24:18) these substances (24:19) that you're consuming. (24:20) Let's add red light into it.(24:22) Maybe we'll throw some (24:23) hyperbaric oxygen in there (24:24) so we can increase energy production. (24:26) Like there's there's multiple things (24:28) that play a part (24:29) in whatever you're dealing with. (24:31) Yeah, yeah.(24:32) Which I know, like we again, (24:33) when we first talked, (24:35) we were talking about that (24:36) because that's one thing I've learned. (24:38) That's also why I love having, (24:39) you know, the podcast (24:40) and having all these guests on (24:42) with all the different (24:44) specialties that they offer, (24:45) because I think the more I do, (24:48) I learn, yes, (24:49) like my big focus is nutrition. (24:51) I'm also tying in some (24:52) nervous system regulation, (24:54) you know, mindset stuff.(24:56) But you really do kind of need (24:58) a lot of the times like a team to, (25:01) you know, at least maybe (25:01) when you're first starting off (25:03) on your journey, you do. (25:05) You kind of need a team. (25:06) Unfortunately, our, you know, (25:07) traditional health care system (25:08) doesn't really offer (25:10) that a lot of the times.(25:11) And they're so specialized (25:12) and everything. (25:13) But yeah, like, I mean, (25:15) especially listening to this episode, (25:16) I hope one kind of big takeaway (25:19) is also knowing, like, (25:20) you can still do some (25:22) of these other things (25:22) to complement, you know, (25:24) what you're doing, (25:25) but you do kind of need a team (25:26) to get started on that path. (25:30) Yeah, you know, it's biology (25:31) is probably the most complex (25:33) system on this planet.(25:34) There is no laser-guided (25:36) missile system, satellite, (25:38) spaceship, piece of technology (25:39) that is more complex (25:40) than biology itself. (25:42) I mean, you could just look at (25:43) genetics or even proteins, (25:45) peptides. (25:46) There's 50, there's over 50,000 (25:48) different peptides in your body (25:51) or proteins, and each one of them (25:52) can fold into different shapes, (25:54) so adds even more complexity to it.(25:56) I mean, there's hundreds (25:58) of different types of growth hormones (25:59) in your body. (26:00) But, you know, it's a little bit, (26:02) it's a lot for a single person (26:04) to tackle. (26:05) You know, that's why we have specialties.(26:06) We have doctors that are specialized (26:08) in, you know, certain systems (26:10) of the body, but their knowledge (26:13) comes from, you know, (26:14) things they read in their textbooks. (26:16) You know, it's what's conventional (26:17) or it's what's found normally (26:19) in medicine. (26:19) But a lot of these textbooks are funded (26:22) by pharmaceutical companies, (26:23) you know, with the intention (26:24) of trying to get these doctors (26:25) to prescribe these drugs, you know, (26:27) get these patients on a (26:29) subscription system, you know.(26:31) So it's not really conducive (26:32) to what's natural. (26:33) That's why I tell people, like, (26:35) you need to find somebody (26:36) that is a functional medicine doctor, (26:38) somebody that treats the root cause (26:39) of a disease and not these symptoms (26:41) that come along with it. (26:43) Somebody that treats (26:44) the cellular dysfunction.(26:46) All disease and illness (26:47) is rooted in cellular dysfunction. (26:50) I mean, honestly, if I could afford (26:51) a human biologist as a physician, (26:53) I would go with every single time (26:55) because that's somebody that understands (26:57) the inner workings of the system. (26:59) You know, I used before the analogy that, (27:01) you know, the body's like a car, (27:03) you know, I'd rather have an engineer (27:04) than have, you know, just your typical (27:06) general mechanic, you know, somebody (27:08) that actually, you know, design the car (27:10) over the person that just fixes (27:11) certain parts of it.(27:13) Yeah, and understands like, okay, (27:15) yeah, let's not just, you know, (27:17) top off the fluid or whatever. (27:18) Like, let's actually get to the root. (27:20) Is there a leak somewhere? (27:22) You know, what's going on? (27:23) Is it just a time thing? (27:25) You know, where you said like an engineer (27:26) would actually be like, okay, what's, (27:28) what's actually the source of the issue? (27:31) And that's definitely a lot of, (27:33) a lot more of what we need.(27:34) And that's what I encourage, (27:36) you know, women to really think about (27:37) when I talk to them because, (27:40) sure, these things can all work. (27:41) Medications and all that stuff. (27:43) But, but, you know, (27:45) what's the source of the issue? (27:47) Is it more of a metabolic condition? (27:48) Is it a hormonal condition? (27:50) What's your stress like? (27:51) What's your nutrition like? (27:52) You know, what are these things (27:53) that you can work on (27:54) to really solve it at the root? (27:59) Such an interesting conversation with Brian.(28:01) And I hope your biggest takeaway today (28:03) isn't that you need to go out and try (28:05) every biohack or wellness modality (28:07) we talked about.
